 C. Repeat once or twice if necessary, then rephrase your comment.

If a person with hearing loss has not understood what you have said the first or second time they probably won't understand you a third or fourth time. Some words, phrases are auditorily difficult to understand.

Here are some examples of rephrasing:
    
She rarely left the house alone
She didn't leave the house by herself very much.
  
 I want to have that plant.
 I am going to buy that flower (shrub, herb, annual,etc.)
