Featured Speaker Program

Speaker: Sam Trychin, Ph.D

​​Note: this event is in lieu of our regular day and evening Chapter Meetings for May.
Sam Trychin, Ph.D specializes in understanding,  appliying and utiliizing the priciples of psychology to understanding the effects of hearing loss on the behavior of hard of hearing people.
Dr. Trychin will address the reduction of stress of those
with hearing loss. His presentations are always interesting and informative.

"Dr. Trychin is hard of hearing himself and was issued his first hearing aids while serving in the United States Air Force. He has been a hearing aid user since that time."

Doors open 5:00pm Presentation at 6:00PM 

There is ample parking behind the RAOM building. The Academy is 0.9-mile farther down East Ave. from St. Paul’s, going away from downtown, on same side of East Ave. as the church.

Rochester Chapter's Assistive Device Demo Center

Every month on the third Thursday
Learn about and try a variety of assisitive listening and signaling devices at our Rochester Chapter's Device Demonstration Center.

Join us at Lifespan (, 1900 S. Clinton Avenue, Rochester 14618  the third Thursday of each month. The Center will be open from10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. (unless Lifespan is closed).

You will be welcome to view and try a variety of devices without stress. Member volunteers are available to discuss the items we have and provide general information on other devices that can help with difficult hearing and listening situations. Although we don't sell devices we can provide starting information on obtaining them online.
You do not need to be a member to take advantage of this wonderful Free opportunity!

HLAA Webinar Information

A Webinar is an online participatory seminar. Attendees register for the seminar. They see and hear (captioned) the content of a lecture or panel discussion. If an online attendee would like to "chime in" or ask a question, they may do so. National provides a series of Webinars each year. This year's schedule will begin in January 2018.
